Providing a Swiss QR-IBAN for QR Invoice Creation:
When creating a studio bank account, Magicline validates the entered IBAN. For Swiss studios, a QR-IBAN (ESR number) must be entered. This always starts with the number three (3).
Example: CH12 3080 8001 2345 6789 0
What is the QR Reference Number, also called the ESR Number?
Magicline identifies from the entered IBAN that a QR reference number (ESR number) must be provided. This QR reference number can only be used in combination with the provided QR-IBAN. It consists of 26 numeric characters, followed by a check digit.
This reference number must be provided when invoices are created and transmitted in the context of Swiss QR invoicing.
QR Reference Number Structure:
The QR reference number is generated implicitly and is composed as follows:
- First 6 digits: ESR identification number (e.g., 723420)
- Next 15 digits: Invoice number without prefix, padded with leading zeros (e.g., 000000000000001)
- Next 5 digits: An internal number to avoid conflicts between multiple studios or invoicing (e.g., 00003)
- Last digit: A check digit based on the previous digits (e.g., 2)
Example: 72 34200 00000 00000 00010 00032
