General
Posting rules help you create your own set of rules for revenue posting. The Magicline accesses a set of system rules that are used for revenue posting. In addition, you can also create individual posting rules using individual revenue accounts. This gives you the option of posting sales revenues for beverages to a revenue account created specifically for this purpose - or certain rates, additional modules, flat rates, and even article variants.
Important: If you change a rule, past bookings will not be changed. New or changed rules only apply to future bookings.
Manage system rules
The system rules contain all revenue posting rules that Magicline uses by default for posting revenues. You have the possibility to edit the revenue account of a standard rule. This allows you to specify, for example, that all revenues from rates at 19% VAT should be posted to a specific revenue account. The same applies to flat rates, rest contributions, etc. If you want to address a special revenue account for certain rates, additional modules, etc., you can do this using the user-defined posting rules.
Separate summarized posting rules according to sales tax rate
When your Magicline is delivered, it is delivered with summarized posting rules. The summarized rules ensure that all revenues of all sales tax rates are posted to one revenue account each of the affected sales type. In the export, these postings are shown separately along their respective tax rate and tax key.
If you want to post your revenues separately by sales tax rate to different accounts, you can make this separation directly in the configuration of the posting rules. To do this, click on the "Separate posting rule" button in the three-point menu of the posting rules.
After separating the rule, you now have several individual posting rules matching the tax rates stored in your studio. Now you can use the "Change posting rule" function to define any target account.
Manage user-defined rules
In the delivery state no user-defined rule is deposited. In this area you will only find rules that you have created yourself. Here you can manage the rules.
Create your own booking rule
Click on "Create booking rule" to add a new rule. Then you can choose what you want to create a rule for. You can choose between rates, additional modules, flat rates, articles and article variants. Select the appropriate VAT rate of the sales type for which you want to create a rule. Then select the sales type - in this example the Gold rate at 19% VAT. Now you select one of your created revenue accounts to which the posting of revenues at 19% VAT is possible. By limiting the revenue type to the VAT rate, you can avoid accidentally posting revenues with different VAT rates to the same account.
As a rule, a sales type can only be posted to one revenue account at a time. Articles and article variants are a special case, as there can be two VAT rates for these sales - one for in-house sales and one for out-of-house sales (ToGo). In these cases, you will be asked to define two revenue accounts for the respective tax rates in one rule. The Magicline will indicate when such a configuration is necessary.
