General
You can find the debt collection settings in the software under Settings / Finance / Debt Collection. The page is titled Collection and transmission settings. If no debt collection provider is active yet, you will see an overview of the available options.
In this area you can adjust your studio's debt collection master data and configure how outstanding receivables are handled — those that have not been fully settled by your members after collection or that have not been processed by your debt collection partner.
Studio data for debt collection
In the Studio data for debt collection section you can see the studio data you provided when registering your debt collection partner. You can update this data at any time via the three-dot menu.
Configuration for remaining receivables in the event of positive or negative file closure
Here you specify what happens to receivables that are still outstanding after a debt collection case is closed. This applies both to successful and unsuccessful recovery — when the case is partially or fully closed.
You have the following options:
- Write-off all remaining unpaid claims: The outstanding amount is written off when the file is closed. The member account will then show no outstanding balance.
- Write-off based on decision of the debt collection partner (recommended): The write-off is only carried out once your debt collection partner sends the corresponding feedback. This option is recommended as it automatically aligns with the actual response from your partner.
Configuration for remaining receivables in the event of rejection or reversal.
This setting applies to receivables that are still outstanding when your debt collection partner rejects a file or reverses the debt collection transfer — that is, when your partner returns the file to the studio.
You have the following options:
- Write-off all remaining unpaid claims: The outstanding amount is written off as soon as the file is returned.
- Write-off based on decision of the debt collection partner (recommended): The write-off is only carried out based on your partner's feedback.
Apply payment and write off amount while case is open
This setting controls whether payments and write-offs are taken into account while a debt collection file is still open.
- Ignore / Immediately: Payments and write-offs are not applied while the file is still open.
- Immediately: Payments and write-offs are applied directly, even while the file is still active.
Finion Inkasso (FairPay) Settings
In the Finion Inkasso (FairPay) Settings section you configure your integration with Finion Inkasso (FairPay). This section is visible when Finion FairPay is active as a debt collection partner for your studio.
