Assigning a membership card to a member
Once you have installed your card reader (see Set up a USB magnetic card reader), you can assign membership cards to your members.
Permission: Manage member access cards.
To do this, go to your member's file. In the Overview tab, click Add a new access medium via the blue button in the first square, or via the 3-dot menu.
Under Type, keep Member card.
Click in the empty field under Identifier, then click Read. A Select device panel opens, listing the card-reader devices configured for your facility. Click the device you want to use – the window then shows "Please place a card to the [device name]." Swipe the access card at that reader, and the number should appear automatically in the field. Some keyboard-wedge readers may also let you swipe directly while the Identifier field is focused, without going through the Read/Select device steps — if in doubt, check your reader's documentation.
Finally, click Save.
Re-assigning a second card to a customer
It is possible that your member has lost their card and you need to assign them another one temporarily.
In this case, proceed again as described under "Assigning a membership card to a member" above.
Note that it is possible to set up a replacement card system (see Forgotten card vs. Create replacement card).
Assigning a friend card to a member
You can give your member an access card for a friend. This card allows them to bring a friend to train in your gym.
To do this, go to your member's file. In the Overview tab, click Add a new access medium via the blue button in the first square, or via the 3-dot menu.
Under Type, choose Buddy card.
Click in the empty field under Identifier and swipe the access card. The number should appear automatically in the field.

Only special characters appear
Check that the Shift key on your keyboard is not engaged. If so, deactivate it.
Nothing reacts
Check that your card reader is working:
- Is it switched on?
- Is there an indicator light?
- Does it emit a sound when the card is swiped?
