Understanding Contract Rate Changes
In Magicline you have the option to renew a contract after the first term with a rate change. This change can be set up within the tariff to take effect at a future date, ensuring that the new rate will automatically be applied to the member's contract from the date of renewal. For more details, see this article here.
To set up rate changes for renewal of rates, please go to Settings / Membership management / Rates
and edit the term:
Setting Up a Cancellation
To cancel a member's contract, you need to schedule a cancellation date within the system. This date specifies when the membership will end. The system allows you to set this date in advance, which provides flexibility in managing memberships.
Interaction Between Rate Changes and Cancellations
When a contract has a rate change for renewal, and you set up a cancellation for a date after the rate change, the system will honour the cancellation date. The cancellation will not be ignored or discarded due to the rate change. Instead, the system will apply the cancellation to the contract, even if the new rate is already in effect.
Practical Example
Imagine a member has a contract with a scheduled rate change set to take effect on September 1st. You then schedule a cancellation for October 1st. In this scenario, the contract will switch to the new rate on September 1st, and the membership will be cancelled on October 1st. The cancellation will be applied to the contract with the new rate.
