Investigation of Appointment History
To investigate automatically canceled appointments, you should first check the appointment history. In most cases, the history shows indications of the “Allow Future Bookings Without Contingents” function.
Explanation of the “Allow Future Bookings Without Contingents” Function
This function allows customers to book appointments in the future, even if they do not have a contingent at the time of booking.
Example of How the Function Works
The logic behind this function works as follows:
- If an inclusive contingent supports the function, it checks whether the customer HAS the contingent NOW.
- We allow a booking in the future, even if the customer does not have a contingent at the time of the appointment.
Example:
- The customer has a contract on a monthly basis that grants access to a benefit.
- The customer books an appointment in 2 months (the currently active contract ends beforehand, so there is effectively no contingent).
- We assume that the contract will be renewed and allow the booking anyway.
It is important to note that it must be the same contract. A contract change – even if the inclusive contingents are identical – would also trigger a cancellation.
Verification of Contingents Before the Appointment
A job checks 24 hours (or less) before the appointment begins to see if the inclusive contingent is now available. If not, the system automatically cancels the appointment.
