Set up, sell, and use consumption credit

Set up consumption credit

Before you can sell consumption credit, you need to configure it in the settings. The setup works in two steps: first you create a configuration, then you add one or more credit amounts to it.

Step 1: Create a configuration

1. Go to Settings / Product management / Consumption credit.
2. Click Create consumption credit configuration.
3. Enter a name for the configuration and select the currency.
4. Assign the configuration to the relevant facilities.
5. Save the configuration.

Step 2: Add a credit amount

1. Open the configuration you just created.
2. Add a credit amount. You can create multiple amounts per configuration.
3. Fill in the following fields for each amount:
   • Cash price: The amount the member pays.
   • Bonus: Optional extra amount the member receives on top.
   • Top-up amount: Total amount credited to the member account (cash price plus bonus).
   • Availability: Defines where this amount is offered. Options: Cash register and online sale, Cash register, or Online sale.
4. Save the credit amount.

You can also set transaction limits in the configuration via Edit transaction limits. The following limits are available, each defaulting to unlimited:

• Limit per customer: Maximum credit balance a member can hold.
• Limit per transaction: Maximum amount per single top-up.
• Limit per withdrawal: Maximum amount per single withdrawal.
• Limit per deposit: Maximum amount per single deposit.

If Finion Pay is active for your facility, the status is shown directly in the configuration. When active, Finion Pay enables contactless and cashless payment at the cash register as well as online purchase of consumption credit via the Member Platform.

Sell consumption credit

Once at least one configuration with a credit amount exists, you can sell consumption credit at the cash register.

1. Open the cash register and select the member in the top-right area.
2. Click the Consumption credit tab.
3. Add the desired credit amount to the basket. You can add multiple amounts at the same time.
4. Click Sell now and select the payment method.

The credit is added to the member account immediately after the transaction and is available for future purchases. Which payment methods are available depends on the availability setting of the respective credit amount.

Use consumption credit

If a member has consumption credit on their account, you can redeem it directly during a sale.

1. Open the cash register and select the member.
2. Add the desired products to the basket as usual.
3. If consumption credit is available, it appears automatically in the basket and reduces the amount to be paid.
4. To skip the credit for this transaction, disable the consumption credit toggle in the basket.
5. Click Charge now and complete the transaction.

Note: Outstanding debt claims are shown separately in the basket and cannot be offset against consumption credit.
