In this article you will learn why a SEPA direct debit may fail, what you can do about it, and how we proceed afterwards.
Contents
Common reasons
A failed SEPA direct debit is most commonly caused by one of the following:
- Incorrect or outdated IBAN
- Rejection by the bank
What you can do
Update your bank details as soon as possible: My Magicline contract → Payment details → Payment details → Edit. Select the SEPA Direct Debit tab and enter the correct bank details. If this is not possible in your portal, contact Support by email.
For instructions on updating your IBAN, see the article How do I update my bank details or IBAN for SEPA direct debit?
Next steps
If your bank account has not been flagged as invalid, a new direct debit attempt will be made. If this also fails, you will be notified via the software about the failed debit or incorrect IBAN.
