This article explains the different ways your members' contributions can be calculated when a freeze period is applied to a contract.

Types of contribution calculation
The software offers different modes for calculating contributions during contract freeze periods, so you can decide how a freeze period affects your members' contributions. You select the mode in the Calculation of pro rata contributions field of the freeze period configuration.
Full contribution calculation
The full contribution calculation keeps the fixed payment schedule of the rate with its defined standard due date. The standard due date is always maintained.
Example: if a weekly payment schedule with Monday as the standard due date is selected, the first Monday that falls within the service period is always used as the due date.
If a freeze period is defined, the original standard due date stays unchanged. After the freeze period, the next regular due date follows the rate logic.
For more flexibility there is a due-date type "Start of service period". When it is used, the due date shifts dynamically with the service period.
Partial contribution calculation
The partial contribution calculation calculates proportional contributions before and after the freeze period, while the standard due date stays unchanged.
The membership contribution is split based on the defined freeze period, so a proportional contribution is calculated for the time before and the time after the freeze period.
Dynamic contribution calculation
The dynamic contribution calculation selects between the full and the partial contribution calculation depending on the payment schedule:
- A full calculation is applied if the payment schedule is longer than one month.
- A partial calculation is applied for payment schedules of one month or less.
This way the contribution calculation adjusts flexibly to the contract structure. In the configuration this corresponds to the Calculation of pro rata contributions field set to Dynamic.
