How to create a promotional offer

Creation of a promotional offer

You will now have to configure your tariff, according to the desired functioning of your promotion. To achieve this, here are a few questions you should ask yourself:

• Is the promotional offer limited in time?
• Is it an offer that renews itself towards a standard offer? Or once the promotion is over, does the offer not renew?
• Does the promotion have to be visible online with a promotional banner?
• Is your promotion age-based?
• It is possible to set up several kinds of promotional offers in Magicline. Here are the different possibilities.

Promotional rate that switches to a standard offer

Let's take an example. Your BASIC subscription has a 3-month promotion at 9.99€ before switching to its standard 12-month rate at €19.90.

How do you set this up?

1. Under Settings > Tariff Management > Tariffs, click on Create Tariff in the top-right corner.
2. Enter the name of your tariff in the window that opens, and save
3. Click on Create duration
4. Enter the promotional duration here (here 3 months)
5. Under Contract extension, choose Tariff change
6. Under Choose a tariff, enter the tariff to which your promotional offer will then switch
7. Fill in the rest of the details according to your wishes for the cancellation period, registration fee, etc.
8. Register

Now enter the price by clicking on Add a price under the yellow banner.

1. Keep the Recurring, Period and All 1 month type.
2. Enter the promotional price
3. Under Advanced settings, check that the configuration corresponds to your wish (pro rata or date to date, standard due date)
4. Save

You will now have to create the offer that includes this promotional price. To do this, go to Settings > Contract management > Contract offers, then create an offer at the top right.

1. Enter the name of your offer (internal and public)
2. Enter a description (visible to your online customers)
3. Enter an image (visible to your online customers)
4. Associate the previously created price
5. Under Offer duration, enter Limited and under Start date and End date, enter the promotion period
6. Finally, check the boxes according to where your offer should be available for subscription (API from the Advanced package).

Once you have saved, click on the line of your offer to open the details. Now click on the Duration tab to enter the duration of your tariff. Under Administration and Discounts, you can fine-tune the configuration of your offer.

Your promotional offer is online (depending on the boxes checked in point 6), with a promotional banner. Here is an example in the Sales Support Tool:

Age-based promotion

You may want to offer an age-based promotion, for example for young or old.

Let's take an example, a standard 12-month offer at €29.90 and €14.90 for 16-18 year olds.

How do you set this up?

1. Open the tariff on which you want to set up this promotion
   1. Or create a new tariff (see steps below or this article)
2. Click on Add a duration to create a new duration
   1. If your duration already exists, then go to 3
3. Click on Add a price
   
   1. If your standard price already exists, click on the 3-dot menu to the right of your price, then Edit.
   In the Add a Price window, choose Price Range in the Price field. Under Default price, you must enter the standard price.
   Under Age, enter the age scale will have a promotion. You can use "+ Add price" to enter other age ranges.
   For each age range, you can enter the promotional price under "Price".
4. Don't forget to check the information under Advanced settings

Once registered, remember to create your offer under Settings > Contract management > Contract offers. See here how to do this.

Only the standard price is visible when adding the duration in the Durations tab.

However, when selling, Magicline asks for the customer's age:

If you have only changed an existing tariff and your contract offer already exists, then you do not need to do anything. The configuration is taken into account automatically.
