- In the dialog Studio details, go to the section Remaining claims configuration.
- In the field Configuration for remaining receivables in the event of rejection or reversal, select Write-off all remaining unpaid claims or Write-off based on decision of the debt collection partner (recommended).
- Click Save.
Settings for unrecoverable claims
Under More / Settings / Finance / Debt Collection, you define how the software handles claims that are still unpaid when your debt collection partner closes a case by rejection or reversal, that is, when the partner returns the file to the studio.
The setting Configuration for remaining receivables in the event of rejection or reversal is located in the edit dialog of your debt collection partner, in the section Remaining claims configuration. It controls whether these remaining claims are written off automatically or whether the decision lies with the debt collection partner. Once saved, the selected option is shown on the card Studio data for debt collection.
The same section also contains the field Configuration for remaining receivables in the event of positive or negative file closure. It applies to claims that remain unpaid after a case is closed with (partially) successful collection and is configured separately.
Options and their effects
The setting offers two options:
-
Write-off all remaining unpaid claims
- Effect: All remaining unpaid claims are written off automatically as soon as the debt collection partner closes the case by rejection or reversal.
-
Write-off based on decision of the debt collection partner (recommended)
- Effect: Remaining claims are only written off if the debt collection partner reports a write-off when closing the case. Otherwise, they remain open in the member account.
- Note: This option is preselected and applies as long as no other option has been saved.
Recommendation for configuration
The software marks Write-off based on decision of the debt collection partner as the recommended option. With this option, your partner's feedback on each case decides whether the remaining claims are written off.
Choose Write-off all remaining unpaid claims if you want every claim that is still unpaid after a rejection or reversal to be written off automatically, regardless of your partner's feedback.
The setting also applies when Finion Inkasso (FairPay) is your debt collection partner.
