This article explains how you can adjust the due dates of additional modules and flat rates directly to the due date of the main contract. This feature facilitates the synchronization of payments and is possible both when creating new additional modules and retrospectively via bulk operation.

Fast Lane
- Go to Settings / Membership Management / Additional Modules (or flat rates).
- Select an additional module and click on Edit Payment Method.
- Set the "Standard Due Date" to Adjusted to the Main Contract.
- Alternatively for existing contracts: Use the bulk operation function Align subcontract due dates to main contract under Members.
Prerequisites for the adjustment
In order for the due dates of an additional module to be successfully aligned with the main contract, certain criteria must be met:
- Same or divisible payment method: The payment interval of the additional module must be identical to or a multiple of that of the main contract (e.g., both monthly).
- Billing type: Ideally, the contracts should be set up with the billing mode "Cut-off date (absolute)".
If the intervals differ too much (e.g., main contract monthly, additional module weekly), the system resorts to a fallback logic or prevents the adjustment to avoid booking errors.
Adjustment when individually booking an additional module
You can already specify in the configuration that an additional module should always align with the main contract. This saves you manual work with each contract conclusion.
Proceed as follows:
- Navigate to Settings / Membership Management / Additional Modules (or flat rates).
- Select the desired additional module and open the section for the Payment Method.
- Click on the pencil icon to edit the settings.
- Under the option "Standard Due Date," select Align subcontract due dates to main contract.
- Save your changes.

What happens if the adjustment is not possible? If the payment method of the additional module is not compatible with the main contract for a specific booking (e.g., different intervals), the system will notify you. In this case, you must define a fallback date or set the date manually as shown in the preview.
Retrospective adjustment via bulk operation
For already existing contracts, you can conveniently correct the due dates via a bulk operation operation.
- Go to Members in the main menu.
- Select the function bulk operation.
- Create a new operation and select the type: Adjust due dates of subcontracts to the main contract.
- Filter by the affected additional modules or flat rates.
- Execute the operation.

Impact on financial accounting
When you change due dates of ongoing contracts via bulk operation, the system performs some bookings in the background to keep the accounts correct:
- Cancellation and recreation: Already generated additional module fees with the "old" due date are canceled. Afterwards, the fees are recreated with the new, adjusted date.
- Offsetting of credit balances: Due to the cancellation of the old claim, a credit balance temporarily arises on the member account. This is automatically offset against the newly created claim.
- Display in the member account: It may happen that a claim that was actually already paid now appears as "open" because the originally paid amount is now technically linked to the new claim.
Important: The total amount of payments, open claims, and credit balances remains unchanged by this process. It is merely an accounting reshuffling to reflect the new due date.
