Fast Lane
- Check in which Spanish region your studio is registered for tax purposes (TicketBAI region or VeriFactu region).
- Create a new cash register in the software: Settings / Cash Register / Registers.
- Fill in all mandatory fields for fiscalization correctly.
- Download the PDF template of the Social Collaboration Agreement in the cash register dialog.

- Use the new fiscalized cash register and then deactivate the old cash register.
What is Fiskaly Sign ES?
Fiskaly Sign ES is a cloud-based signature service that signs every single cash register entry in Spain in real time and stores it in an immutable, chained data sequence. This creates the basis for meeting the legal requirements of TicketBAI (in the Basque Country) and VeriFactu (in the rest of Spain).
Each transaction is individually cryptographically signed and linked to the previous transaction. This results in a seamless, tamper-proof chain of cash register operations.
Regions and legal foundations in Spain
The Spanish tax system distinguishes different tax regimes and special areas. What is important for you is in which region your company is registered for tax purposes, as the specific requirements depend on this.
The Fiskaly Sign ES integration takes these differences into account and supports, among others, the following areas:
- Araba (Álava): TicketBAI requirements for this province.
- Bizkaia: TicketBAI and BATUZ requirements.
- Gipuzkoa: TicketBAI requirements for this province.
- Navarra: Own province-specific requirements.
- Other regions of Spain: Requirements of the VeriFactu legislation (e.g., Andalusia, Catalonia, Madrid, Valencia, Balearic Islands, etc.).
- Canary Islands, Ceuta, Melilla: Special regional regulations.
In TicketBAI areas, the signed data is usually transmitted very promptly to the responsible tax authority. In VeriFactu regions, the signed receipt data is sent to the Spanish tax authority (AEAT) according to the local requirements.
What you need to consider in daily operations
Good news: Once your cash register is correctly connected to the Fiskaly Sign ES interface, most of the legal requirements run automatically in the background.
- Signature & transmission: The software automatically signs your cash register entries and prepares the data for transmission to the respective tax authority.
- No additional monthly or annual reports: No additional manual monthly or annual reports are necessary for the recorded transaction data – these are automatically covered via the interface.
- Mandatory: Receipt issuance: You must issue a legally compliant receipt for every sale. This includes, among other things, a QR code with the signed transaction data so that customers or authorities can verify the information.
The exact design of the receipt may vary slightly depending on the TicketBAI or VeriFactu regulation, but it is crucial that all required information is present and the QR code is correctly generated and printed.
Set up a fiscalized cash register for a VeriFactu region
The following section covers the setup of a new fiscalized cash register in a VeriFactu region. The basic logic is: create a new cash register with all mandatory data, sign and upload the Social Collaboration Agreement, then deactivate the old cash register.
Step 1: Create a new cash register
Navigate in the software to Settings / Cash Register / Registers and create a new cash register, for example via the button New Cash Register or a similar entry.
- Select the appropriate organization or branch.
- Ensure that the country is set to Spain.
- Assign the cash register to the correct tax region / territory (e.g., "Other regions of Spain" for VeriFactu).
Step 2: Fill in mandatory data for fiscalization
Then fill in all fields required for the fiscalized use of the cash register. Typically, these include:
- Company or studio data (e.g., name, address)
- Tax information (e.g.,
tax number, possibly other mandatory data) - Settings for the region / territory (VeriFactu region)
Save the cash register once all mandatory fields are completely and correctly filled out.
Step 3: Download Social Collaboration Agreement
In the cash register dialog you will find an option to download the Social Collaboration Agreement as a PDF. This agreement is necessary to legitimize the data transmission via the Fiskaly Sign ES interface to the Spanish tax authority.
- Click the corresponding link or button to download the PDF.
- Save the file locally on your computer.

Step 4: Electronically sign the document
You must electronically sign the downloaded PDF. Common tools for this are, for example:
- VALIDe (online platform)
- AutoFirma (desktop application)
Open the PDF with the respective tool, perform the electronic signature, and save the signed version of the file.
Step 5: Upload the signed agreement again
Return to the cash register dialog in the software. Here you can upload the signed Social Collaboration Agreement again.
- Click on Upload File or the corresponding button.
- Select the signed PDF file from your computer.
- Confirm the upload and save the changes to the cash register.
After a successful upload, your new cash register is prepared for fiscalized use in the VeriFactu region.

Step 6: Use the new cash register and deactivate the old one
Once the configuration is complete and the document is uploaded, you can use the new fiscalized cash register in daily operations.
- Switch to the cash register area and perform test bookings (if recommended).
- Ensure that receipts with QR codes are generated.
- After everything runs smoothly, deactivate the old cash register so that no bookings are processed via non-fiscalized cash registers anymore.
Technical background for support and technology
For tech-savvy users and support teams, it is important to know that the Fiskaly Sign ES interface provides the functions of the Spanish "Dispositivo de Firma" (Signing Device) as a cloud service.
- It generates the TicketBAI XML files and VeriFactu data sets in the prescribed format.
- It ensures the signature of transaction data and the generation of the QR code that is printed on the receipts.
- The transmission of signed data to the responsible tax authority (e.g., Hacienda Foral in the TicketBAI area or AEAT for VeriFactu) is part of the automated process.
For daily operation, you do not need to actively deal with these technical details – the most important thing is that your cash register is set up correctly, all mandatory fields are maintained, and you issue a correct receipt for every sale.
