Why do you need to configure a cash register?
With Magicline you can easily manage sales thanks to the integrated payment function. The following steps have to be performed before the cash register can be activated.
Install receipt printer
If you have one, you can install a receipt printer.
Under Receipt printers you enter all receipt printers used in the system, which are then linked to existing cash registers. Depending on the printer, different connection options are available.
- USB
- Web Print /IP
- Bluetooth
Notes: If you are using an iPad or tablet to sell something, you will need a Bluetooth printer for the receipt.
Create cash register
To use your cash register, you need to create a cash register digitally (or have many in your studio). To do this, click on "Create Cash Register" and fill out the information: Name and Description. Each cash register created here will automatically have its own cash book. When you create a new cash register, you can enter a specific name to easily distinguish it. It is important that you already create a printer under Receipt Printer to be able to select it when you create your cash register.
Create product groups
To link your cash register to your products, you must first create a product group using the "product groups" menu. The product groups created here will automatically appear that way in the cash register. It facilitates sales by grouping similar products in only one place.
Example of product groups:
- Product group Beverages
- Product group Snacks
- Clothing merchandise group
Create products
Here you define products that you want to offer for sale. You can set a standard price, but also set a specific price for a group of customers. In order to set up the product here, you must first set up the product group. Here you assign your products to a product group.
To add a product, click on "Add product" in the upper right corner, there you define the name of the product, the product group and select the VAT. Here you can also specify whether a deposit is required for this product or not.
To add a variant, you need to click on the three-dot menu to the right of your product, you can name the variant, assign it an item number and a default price. The EAN corresponds to the barcode of your product. So if you have a scanner, it is possible to link it to Magicline. By clicking on "In stock" you can track the remaining quantity of the product in question. You can see the stock level directly on the product page, but also in the Sale.
Note: To add a special price for your product (as a VIP), click on the three-dot menu and then on Add price.
