In this article you will learn: What a duplicate check is and how you can sign multiple contracts for one member.
Quick guide for multiple contracts of a member:
-
Settings / Membership signing / Membership signing settings
-
"Activate "Multiple active online memberships
-
Select rate code
What is a duplicate check?
Every time a contract is signed online, we perform what is known as a "duplicate check". In this way, we prevent a member with an existing data record from being recorded as a new member with a new data record. The check takes place on the basis of the following three properties:
-
Postal code
-
Date of birth
-
E-mail address
When can an existing member not sign a contract?
If a matching record is found, the member will not be able to sign a contract under the following conditions:
-
the member's account has outstanding debts
-
the member is locked
-
the member already has an active contract
How can I activate additional contracts for active members?
If members already have an active contract, you can set in Magicline that your members can have several active contracts at the same time. Under Membership signing / Membership signing settings you can activate "Multiple active online memberships". You still have the option to allow only for certain online contracts. Simply select the rate code (in the example below, the name of the rate code is "Allow more online memberships") that you have added to the corresponding rates in the settings. You also have the choice of using the existing member record or, if the contract is not to be created in the found member's studio, creating a new one. This way you can deliberately allow a duplicate if members should not exist across studios.
How do I create a new rate code and assign it?
Under Settings / Membership management / Rates codes you can select "Create rate code". Enter a name, optionally enter a description and select a color. Now select the rates that should not exclude further online contracts under Settings / Membership management / Rates .
Country specific features
Instead of zip code, date of birth and e-mail address, other values are used for the duplicate check in some countries that allow an exact conclusion to be drawn about the person. In Italy, for example, the "Codice Fiscale" is used for the check, in Spain the DNI/NIE number.
