In this article you will learn: how to create a Company Account for the Apple App Store.
Quick Guide
- Obtain a D-U-N-S number
- Create an Apple ID
- Join the Apple Developer Program
- Provide company information and pay membership fee
- Wait for verification
- Enable two-factor authentication
1. Check Prerequisites
Before you start, make sure you have the following things ready:
- A D-U-N-S number: This number identifies your company worldwide. You can apply for it for free at Dun & Bradstreet if your company doesn't have one yet.
- An Apple ID: If you don't have one, create one on the Apple ID website.
- Company documentation: Prepare all relevant documents of your company.
2. Create or Use an Apple ID
If you don't have an Apple ID yet, go to the Apple ID website and create one. Use a general company email address (e.g. admin@yourcompany.com) for the company account, which the people responsible for the later management of the app can access. Please note that this should ideally not be just one person, so that vacations or illness can be taken into account.
3. Join the Developer Program
- Visit the Developer website: Go to the Apple Developer website.
- Sign in with Apple ID: Sign in with your Apple ID.
- Join the Apple Developer Program: Navigate to the Apple Developer Program and click "Enroll".
- Select Organization: Choose "Company/Organization" as the account type.
4. Enter D-U-N-S Number
Enter your company's D-U-N-S number. Apple will verify this information, which may take a few days.
5. Provide Company Information
Fill in all required fields with your company's information, including company name, phone number, and address.
6. Agree to the Agreement
Read and agree to the Apple Developer Program License Agreement.
7. Pay Membership Fee
Pay the annual membership fee (currently 99 USD). You can do this with a credit card.
8. Verification
Apple will review the submitted information and may contact you to confirm the authenticity of your company. Therefore, keep your documents ready and be reachable.
9. Complete Registration
After verification, you will receive a confirmation email from Apple. Then you can access the Apple Developer Dashboard and start developing and submitting apps.
10. Enable Two-Factor Authentication
Apple requires two-factor authentication to be enabled for your Apple ID. Go to your Apple ID settings and follow the instructions to enable it.
