Contextual help at a glance
The contextual help gives you an explanation of the element you’re working on, directly in the software. It uses artificial intelligence to work out which element and page you’re on and generates an answer that fits this context, so you don’t have to search for a matching article yourself.
Open the contextual help
- Hold Option (Mac) or Alt (Windows) on your keyboard.
- Left click the element you have a question about, for example an input field or a button.
- Wait a moment. The Contextual Helper panel opens and the answer appears step by step while it’s being generated.
- Read the answer or click a link in it to open a Help Center article.
Alternatively, point at the element with the mouse and press Ctrl + 1.
To close the panel, press Esc or click the X in the panel.
Information sent and answer displayed
When you open the contextual help, the software sends information about your current context to an AI service:
- the text and labels of the element you clicked
- the page you’re on, including its breadcrumb
- the language of your user interface
Based on this, you receive a short explanation that can contain links to matching Help Center articles. The links are listed at the end of the answer. The answer is generated by AI, so check it before you rely on it for important decisions.
Shortcut reminder in the top bar
In the top bar of the new navigation, the question mark icon sits on the right, next to the notifications bell. Click it to open the Contextual Helper popover. It reminds you of the keyboard shortcut: Option (Mac) or Alt (Windows) together with a left click on any element.
If the answer doesn’t help
Below the answer, click Didn’t find what you were looking for?. What happens next depends on how support is set up for your studio:
- If your studio uses the support chat, the support chat opens and you can ask your question there.
- Otherwise, you’re taken to the support area of the software.
