Why is there this new process?
The previously used service for so-called Dynamic Links (Firebase) will no longer be supported as of August 2025. To ensure you can continue to send app download and registration links easily and reliably, the #AppLinks placeholder has been introduced. It works for all locations, all countries, and all pricing models.
What does the placeholder #AppLinks do?
With #AppLinks, two separate links are automatically displayed in your emails:
- Download link: Takes your members to the respective app store (Apple or Google Play) to download the app.
- Registration link: After downloading, your members click this link to register their profile in the app.
This ensures that new users can complete the entire process in two clear steps.
How do you use #AppLinks in your email templates?
You can use #AppLinks easily in any template:
- Open the desired template in the section Communication / Management / Templates.
- Replace old placeholders like
#AppQuickRegisteror#AppQuickRegisterButton. - Use #AppLinks instead.
- Save your changes.
When sending, the appropriate app store link and registration link will automatically be included.
What happens to old placeholders?
Your previous placeholders will still work until August. After that, they will be deactivated. It is recommended to switch all templates to #AppLinks as soon as possible to ensure your members always receive working links.
Tips for a smooth transition
- Check all templates in the section Communication / Management / Templates that currently contain app links.
- Send a test email to yourself to make sure both links are displayed correctly.
- Inform your team about the change if multiple people are working on templates.
- Start sending early to be able to answer any questions from your members right away.
