- MDB-to-USB Interface
- Necessary cables (including USB-C to USB-B) and adapters (DC plug)
- 4G Internet Antenna

Additionally, the product variants you wish to sell must be created and enabled for your location in our software. Finion Pay must also be activated for your studio.
Configuration in our software
Important: Configure the terminal completely in our software before you turn it on and connect it to the vending machine. This ensures proper commissioning.
Step 1: Add Device
- Navigate in our software to Settings / Access Control / Device Manager.
- In the device manager for Finion Pay, click on the context menu and select Add Device.
- Assign a unique name to your device.
- Select "Vending machine" as the Task and "Finion Pay S1U2" as the Device model.
- The Connection type is "Device API".
Step 2: Set Parameters
- Password: Set a password to access the admin menu directly on the terminal. The default is "1234".
- Show purchase confirmation: Activate this option if members should see a confirmation page before payment.

Attention: Enter the internal slot number of the machine here, as it may differ from the visible number. If you are unsure, contact the manufacturer of your vending machine.
- Vending machine idle time (ms): Define how long the terminal waits for user input before the sales process is canceled.
- Vending machine product access time (ms): Define how long the terminal waits for confirmation that a product has been dispensed before the purchase is canceled and refunded.

Physical Installation on the Vending Machine
After the configuration in our software is complete, the next step is to connect the terminal to your snack or coffee machine.
- Mount Terminal: First, use the included mounting plate set to attach the S1U2 terminal securely to your vending machine.
- Connect Components: Then, connect the vending machine to the terminal as described in the following diagram and the accompanying steps.
Practical Example: Wiring Step-by-Step
The connection between your vending machine and the Finion Pay terminal is made via the MDB-to-USB interface. The following diagram shows you the exact setup.
- (1) MDB Cable: Connect the MDB port of your vending machine (often labeled "VMC") to the MDB-to-USB interface. This cable transmits the sales data.
- (2) USB Cable: Connect the MDB-to-USB interface to the card terminal using the supplied USB-C to USB-B cable.
- (3) Power Supply: Connect the terminal to the power supply. This can be done either directly via a DC plug on the vending machine or through an external power adapter.
- (4) 4G Antenna (optional): If stable Wi-Fi or Ethernet is not available at the location, connect the 4G antenna to the "MAIN" port of the terminal to improve cellular reception.
Final Setup of the Terminal
The following steps must be carried out on the Finion Pay Vending Terminal.
- Power On & Connect: After mounting and wiring, turn on the terminal. Follow the on-screen instructions to connect the device to the internet (Wi-Fi, Ethernet, or 4G).
- App Start: In the background, an app will automatically be installed and started. Confirm the app’s request to access the USB port. The app has started correctly if you see the error message “Could not retrieve configuration from Magicline.” You can now proceed with the next step.
- Open Admin Menu: Tap the top-left corner of the screen four times in quick succession to open the admin menu.
- Enter Password: Enter the default password 1234. Next time, it will be the password you have stored in Magicline.
-
Connect Tenant: In the admin menu, enter your tenant name under Tenant and click "Save". You can find your tenant name in the URL of our software: `https://TENANT_NAME.web.magicline.com/`
- Finalize & Test: Close the menu. The terminal is now paired with our software and ready for use. Finally, perform a test sale to verify that it is functioning correctly.
