How to activate PayPal for your online sales
To enable PayPal as a payment method for your online sales and receivables management, you need to have activated Finion Pay. If you haven't done that yet, you can find all the information on this page.
During the registration process, you will receive a link from Adyen to complete the registration with PayPal. Log in to PayPal and confirm the integration with Adyen or Finion Pay.
Important: The link is only valid for 24 hours
Configuration in your Magicline
Navigate in your Magicline to Settings / Finion Pay / Payment Methods and click on the One-Time Payments tab. Here, you will see all available payment methods for online payments.
Note: PayPal is currently only available for one-time payments.
Click on the three-dot menu and select Configure Payment Method. To activate PayPal, we need some information from you, which you can find in your PayPal account:
Merchant ID
You can find your PayPal Merchant ID in your PayPal account under this link.
Business Email Address
You can find the email address of your PayPal account under this link. It's usually the same email address you use to log in.
Important - all transactions via PayPal are automatically credited to your PayPal account. This means that PayPal transactions are not included in Adyen transfers. Make sure you regularly or automatically check your PayPal account and withdraw your balance.
Activation of PayPal integration
Within a few hours, you will receive a link from Adyen at the provided email address. Log in to PayPal and confirm the integration with Adyen or Magicline Payments.
Important: The link is only valid for 24 hours
Once the integration is confirmed, there's nothing more you need to do. Within a few days, PayPal will automatically activate, and your members will be able to use PayPal.
What to do if the link has expired?
If the link has expired, Adyen can send you a new link. Simply reply to the previous email from Adyen, or go back to Settings / Finion Pay / Payment Methods. Click on the PayPal entry under One-Time Payments and select Resend PayPal Activation Link.

Troubleshooting
If PayPal appears in the apps and on your websites, but all payments are failing, it is very likely that something is incorrectly configured with your PayPal.
Since we do not have access to your PayPal account, we cannot say for certain what needs to be adjusted.
Common reasons for PayPal payment failures include:
- You are using a personal buyer account instead of a PayPal merchant account
- The email address of your PayPal account is not verified
- The payout account of your PayPal account is not confirmed
