GAT Writer Overview
The GAT Writer supports Legic (B/BA), Mifare (-F), or ISO15693 (-ISO), depending on the model. To add a data configuration, click on the respective menu item and select Add Data Configuration. Depending on the selected model, only the supported transponder type can be chosen here.
Mifare Configuration (Reading/Writing Segments)
Currently, only Ganter segment types are supported. To read/write the segments, the correct Ganter master key (36 digits) and the correct block address/sector address must be specified so that the reader retrieves the data from the correct sector. The sector used by default by Gantner is 4, which likely fits 95% of all studios with Gantner locks, but some studios may use a different sector if sector 4 is already occupied (see Notes).
This setting defines when a lock can be used, either:
- On the day of check-in
- From the time of check-in, for the specified duration
- Independently of check-in (always)
If this setting is enabled, corresponding data will be written to the transponder at check-in.
Notes on Using GAT Configuration Manager
If the studio has other Gantner devices, such as a GAT Access, GAT Info, etc., the master key (or site key) can also be found in the GAT Configuration Manager configuration under Reader = Mifare = Site Key (see screenshot).
The configured block address can be found in the GAT Configuration Manager under Application = Data Management = Locker 1/Locker 2 = Position on Card (see screenshot).
Additional Notes
The master key (or site key) can also be found in the lock configuration (Eco Lock Configurator) under Reader = Segment Configuration = General (see screenshot).
The configured block address can be found under Reader = Segment Configuration = Mifare Classic (see screenshot).
Legic Site Key Configuration
Currently, only Ganter segment types are supported. To read/write the segments, the correct Ganter site key (4 digits) and the Ganter sub-site key (2 digits) must be specified.
This setting defines when a lock can be used, either:
- On the day of check-in
- From the time of check-in, for the specified duration
- Independently of check-in (always)
If this setting is enabled, corresponding data will be written to the transponder at check-in.
ISO15693 Configuration
Currently, only Ganter segment types are supported.
This setting defines when a lock can be used, either:
- On the day of check-in
- From the time of check-in, for the specified duration
- Independently of check-in (always)
If this setting is enabled, corresponding data will be written to the transponder at check-in.
